Statement on the Incident at CSD Berlin (Berlin Pride)
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragic events at CSD Berlin.
Our love and strength goes out to all the people who have been injured, the families and friends of everyone impacted, the CSD Berlin organisers and volunteers, and the emergency services responding to such a horrific attack on LGBTQ+ communities. Our heartfelt condolences go to everyone who knew the person who has died.
Pride is about creating safe spaces where people can be themselves. Pride is about love. Pride is about acceptance. Pride is about community.
A Pride event being targeted by such extreme violence is devastating and heartbreaking for the whole Pride movement and LGBTQ+ people everywhere.
Pride organisations may be spread across the world but as a movement we are united by our shared purpose and reason for existing. Moments like this are a reminder that we are all part of the global Pride family.
Warwickshire Pride stands alongside CSD Berlin and everyone in their community at this most horrific of times.
