Reform candidate in Warwickshire calls LGBTQ+ community “degenerate kid-groomers”
It’s the local elections in Warwickshire today. While we can’t tell you who to vote for and have no political bias as a charity, we can call politicians and candidates out when they actively harm LGBTQ+ communities.
This is a comment on a news article about the Warwickshire Pride festival. Ethan Liddell is a Reform candidate standing in the Leamington Brunswick ward:

He called LGBTQ+ people “degenerate kid-groomers”.
Politicians should positively represent all of their constituents, whoever they are and however they identify. Between this comment and Reform campaigning on getting rid of the rainbow crossing in Leamington and stopping diversity initiatives at Warwickshire County Council, it is clear they have an anti-LGBTQ+ agenda and a plan to do harm to LGBTQ+ communities locally.
It is completely unacceptable and an outrage for a political candidate to be making public comments like this about LGBTQ+ people. Ethan Liddell must be stopped. People like him should not be in positions of power. It puts us all at risk.
Who you vote for is your business. It’s a decision that you have to make. But when you go the polling station today, please vote to keep homophobic, transphobic, racist, fascist, bigoted candidates away from our Councils.
