Warwickshire County Council grants status

We recently applied to several Warwickshire County Councillors for community grants that will support our work across Warwickshire.

We are pleased to have been awarded grants from Liberal Democrat and Labour councillors to organise a youth pride in Rugby and an LGBTQ+ engagement event in Alcester. Big thanks for the support.

Sadly, our application to a Reform councillor to run wellbeing events at our LGBTQ+ meetup in Nuneaton was unsuccessful.

We will try to source funding elsewhere for our work in north Warwickshire. We know that our presence is needed there. We also recently received a grant from the HAF scheme at Warwickshire County Council to run activities at our youth groups focused on menu planning, cooking healthy meals, nutritional education, and alleviating food poverty. It was a great piece of work that young people at the youth groups really enjoyed.

It is becoming more difficult in the LGBTQ+ charity sector to obtain funding, so we are incredibly grateful for the support that has been shown by some Warwickshire County Councillors and wonderful Warwickshire County Council staff. It really does make a difference to LGBTQ+ lives.
