Announcement regarding discrimination by Girlguiding and Women’s Institute

Because there is a lot of talk about Prides needing to take action, just confirming that we have communicated to local Girlguiding and WI that we will not be permitting them to be part of Warwickshire Pride until their organisations reverse the decision to ban trans women and girls. We have a clear policy and any organisation or group that excludes or discriminates against any part of the LGBTQ+ community is not welcome at our events. Hopefully this is reassuring to people.

We have also signed a letter from the UK Pride Organisers Network that calls out the WI and urges them to reconsider.

Additionally, we are supporting local Girlguiding members who are writing to Girlguiding to express their views and call for a reversal of the decision to ban trans girls.
