Pride flag flown by Warwickshire County Council

We are pleased to see the pride flag is being flown by Warwickshire County Council. We knew it was happening but needed to keep it quiet until it happened.

Recently our Chair privately met with the Chairman of Warwickshire County Council to discuss the pride flag being flown for Pride Month and options for where the flag could be placed and how long it could be up. We are pleased to see the Chairman has stood with LGBTQ+ communities and had the flag raised. Thank you.

Of course, Reform won’t be happy about this. They will probably have something negative to say. But guess what… Reform changed the rules so that only the Chairman of Warwickshire County Council can decide what flags go up. It suited them when the Chairman was a Reform councillor. But following him being found out to be a slum landlord, he was replaced by a Conservative councillor. The current Chairman has exercised his right to raise the pride flag. So, really Reform should not have a problem because the rule they created has been followed.

Happy Pride Month.
