Volunteers needed for Pride Festival
Warwickshire Pride needs you.
Our Pride festival is fast approaching (Saturday 22nd August at the Pump Room Gardens in Leamington Spa), and we’re looking for 30 amazing volunteers to help make the day happen and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Warwickshire Pride is organised entirely by volunteers. Every smile that welcomes someone to the festival, every performer who gets on stage at the right time, every question answered, every donation collected, and every safe, well-run part of the festival happens because members of our community step forward and give a little of their time.
If you’ve ever enjoyed Warwickshire Pride, benefited from our work, or simply believe in supporting LGBTQ+ people in Warwickshire, we’d love you to be part of the team this year.
We’re looking for volunteers for the following roles:
7:00am – 10:30am
- Stallholder check-in
- Traffic management while stallholders arrive
- Setting up the information, merchandise, bi, trans and backstage tents
9:00am – 11:30am
- Stewarding the Pride March
11:00am – 6:00pm
- Running backstage – checking in performers, liaising with the sound crew, providing drinks and a friendly welcome
- Running the information tent – providing festival information, promoting the charity’s services and selling raffle tickets
- Running the merchandise tent – selling Pride merchandise and taking donations
- Collecting donations around the festival site
- Stewarding the festival entrance gate
11:00am – 8:00pm
- Litter picking and changing full bins
6:00pm – 8:00pm
- Traffic management as stallholders leave
- Clearing the site of rubbish
- Packing away the information, merchandise, bi, trans and backstage tents
- Taking down decorations
We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of four hours, although you’re very welcome to volunteer for longer if you’d like.
Before the festival, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared with a volunteer briefing, and you’ll have plenty of support from our experienced team throughout the day.
As a thank you, every volunteer will receive:
- A meal voucher
- Free drinks during their shift
- Regular breaks
- Plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festival as well as helping to make it happen
Volunteering at Warwickshire Pride is incredibly rewarding. It’s a fantastic team effort, a chance to meet new people, make friends, and know you’ve played an important part in creating a welcoming, safe and joyful event for thousands of people.
