Stratford Pride has been cancelled

It is with sincere apologies and great sadness that we announce this Saturday’s Stratford pride march and picnic are cancelled.

The honest reason is that key personnel within our team need some time out after what we have been subjected to in recent weeks. You may have seen the stuff we’ve posted on our socials but there is so much that’s happened that we haven’t yet made public. It’s a bit much and our team needs some headspace as we had towards the main event next month.

Also, with needing security that we had not budgeted for and therefore cannot afford, the risks outweigh everything else and we have needed to make a sensible decision. Sadly, we are going to need security for all our pride, picnic, and mini pride events based on advice and our own assessment of the current state of things.

What we will work towards, as with Rugby, is bringing Stratford Pride back in 2027 but as more of a small festival with stalls and performances. We know this is what people have been asking for. We’ll be calling on those people and anyone else who wants to get involved to help make it happen. We’ll be recruiting people from Stratford to help organise, fundraise, and run the event. We’ll have more on that in the autumn.

Our next event will be the main Warwickshire Pride event on 22nd August in Leamington Spa. We’ve recently been through the safety meeting for that with the council and emergency services. We’re good to go and have loads lined up for you – 130 stalls, a full lineup of performances, food and drink, talks and workshops, fairground rides, a dog show, a sensory lounge, and so much more.

We are recruiting volunteers to help run the festival on the day.

If you can spare a few hours to help run an info or merch stall, steward the march, check in performers backstage, check in stallholders, manage traffic, litter pick, or collect donations, send us a DM.

Volunteering at Warwickshire Pride is incredibly rewarding. It’s community power at its finest.
