Paul Desson-Baxter, 1985 – 2024

We have been informed of the devastating news that our friend and former Chair of Coventry Pride, Paul Desson-Baxter, has sadly died.

From the moment we met Paul in a coffee shop in Leamington many years ago to discuss how to strengthen the bond between Warwickshire Pride and Coventry Pride, we were struck by what a lovely person he was. He really was one of the good ones.

As well as the bond we had as neighbouring Prides, our Chair also served with Paul on the UK Pride Organisers Network board and always admired his will to do the best for LGBT+ communities in such a selfless way.

Paul was generous. He was kind. He was a friend. He will be missed. But his spirit will live on, as will memories of his fabulous glittery beard and all the good work he did.

Our thoughts are with Paul’s partner, Terry, and everyone who knew and loved him.
